Hypercode × DMEXCO 2025

Alongside the party wristbands 😉, AI dominated the stages, panels and conversations. Established businesses and newcomers offered a wide range of perspectives on how they use it. In his keynote, Marc Opelt, CEO of OTTO, showed how AI can be used — and already is being used — across the customer journey. He explored how relationships with customers change when AI agents become part of everyday shopping, and how businesses beyond the AI providers can benefit.
DMEXCO also looks at the wider implications of technological change. In her talk, Prof. Dr. Maja Göpel argued that innovation needs social and environmental responsibility to have a lasting future. Even amid the enthusiasm for technology, this theme kept coming up: how can we design digital products sustainably and responsibly?
For Hypercode, the two days were a valuable chance to meet clients, have thoughtful conversations and take new ideas from the talks back to our work. We’re looking forward to applying them in upcoming projects, particularly when integrating AI into customer experiences and digital products.
Hypercode Summer Party 2025
After last year’s big fifth-anniversary party, we were happy to keep the Hyperfest tradition going, with plenty of familiar faces, new colleagues and new additions to our families. The weather played along again: a pleasant 27°C meant we could celebrate well into the evening with great burgers and cold Kölsch. For the gamers, a Switch 2 was hooked up to the projector. Judging by the Game Boy tribute on this year’s invitation, we’d clearly caught some of the Switch 2 hype ourselves.

A big thank you to everyone, inside and outside the team, who helped make the day happen. And, of course, to our barbecue masters Michael & Maik, who took charge of the grill for the third year running. They’re now a firm fixture on the Hyperfest line-up: “Are the guys from last year doing the barbecue again?” 😋
Thank you, too, to all our clients and partners for your continued trust in our sixth year together. We were especially pleased to welcome colleagues from Arc-Z, Basler AG, dimedis, Köhler Sicherheitstechnik, SuperSmash.Media and ZEIN Consulting.
awork × Raycast: Our Favorite Project Management Tool Meets Our Favorite Launcher
As a Digital Product Studio working mainly on client projects, we rely on efficient resource planning, clear project communication and time tracking that fits into the flow of work.
After what felt like an endless search for the right project management tool, we discovered awork in summer 2023. The Hamburg team’s software brought together what we needed: communication, planning and time tracking in one platform. It’s well designed, actively developed and, thanks to open APIs and good documentation, gives us room to build our own extensions.
We’re also big fans of the app launcher Raycast, so the next step felt obvious: an extension to search awork, open projects and tasks, and log time using keyboard shortcuts. We recommend Hyperkey+A. It keeps awork within reach wherever we’re working: checking a task while designing in Figma, logging time after a successful pull request or finding a project’s email address to forward a message. For that last one, try ⌃E.
We’ve been using the extension internally for several months, and it’s become part of our daily routine. After a positive conversation with the awork team, we decided to release it for free in the Raycast Store, so other teams can simplify their workflows too. To get started, you just need to set up an API client in awork’s user interface. The steps are covered in this awork support guide.

From Placement to Working Student: Malte Stays with Hypercode

Following feedback from our colleague Timo, who took the same route into the team, we made sure Malte had plenty of support from the start. Smaller tasks helped him quickly get to grips with our technologies, particularly TypeScript, Vue.js and hybrid mobile apps.
Before long, he took ownership of his own project. After working through the concept and technical plan together, Malte developed an interactive site map with GPS positioning and dynamic directions. The finished web app has been available to visitors at the WALZWERK since the end of last year. His technical understanding, ability to learn quickly and commitment to quality impressed us, and soon earned him a place on larger projects.
During his placement, Malte put the theory from his studies into practice, applying programming principles to web and app development. He also gained his first experience of working directly with clients. Since February, he’s officially been part of the team as a working student, and we’re very glad to have such an engaged, dependable colleague.
Malte, it’s great to have you at Hypercode. We’re looking forward to continuing our work together! ☺️
