Dear clients, partners and friends,

Another turbulent year is almost over, and it has often felt as though the pandemic’s repeat button was stuck. But the lessons we all learned about remote work and distributed teams last year helped us meet the continuing and new challenges of 2021, and prepare for those ahead.

We’ve loved working with you on so many exciting projects: corporate websites, product configurators, shops and interfaces, plus refactored and entirely new mobile apps. The kind of work that makes your digital portfolio shine and gets our developer hearts racing. Thank you for your trust, the productive collaboration and for making us part of your teams!

We look forward to continuing that work together next year and hope to see you in person again soon. Until then, we wish you and your team a wonderful festive season and a successful start to 2022. Above all, stay healthy!

Our first planning meetings set out the goals and milestones for Hypercode. The very first, incidentally, took place at Geißbockheim, the home of 1. FC Köln. We then moved into a brand-new office in a great location, only to start working from home a few months later when the first wave of the pandemic hit. Fortunately, our workflows were already set up for remote collaboration, so we could make the switch fully. It took some getting used to, but the widespread adoption of video calls and collaborative software now lets us work closely with partners and clients from Hamburg to Vienna — without catching an early flight, as we sometimes used to.

Over the past two years, we’ve welcomed an exciting mix of partners and clients, from small businesses to established names. They turn to us for advice, planning and development of their digital products. Together, we build apps, web applications, websites, configurators and interfaces for e-mobility, energy, banking, insurance, culture and the public sector. More recently, we’ve also strengthened our work with young start-ups, offering favorable terms to help them turn their digital business models into reality.

We’ve already reached many of the goals we set at Geißbockheim more than two years ago. Others are still a work in progress. Doing this with a team that works so well together and a trusted, growing network of partners and freelancers is a real pleasure. Thank you for working with us over the past two years. Here’s to many more together! 🥳

A turbulent year of change, uncertainty and unexpected challenges is coming to an end. Some of those challenges are behind us; others still lie ahead. But if 2020 has shown us anything, it’s that we can make a real difference together.

For us, that meant working from our homes and yours to build digital products that connect people, share knowledge and bring products to life. Thank you for your trust, the productive collaboration and for welcoming us into your teams so often — even when a webcam was our only way of seeing each other.

With delivery teams stretched and so many of us away from the office, we’re sending our Christmas greetings this way rather than by post. The message remains the same:

Enjoy the holidays, have a wonderful start to the new year and, above all, stay healthy! We look forward to starting new digital projects with you in 2021 and continuing the ones already under way.

Exactly one year ago today, we opened for business as Hypercode. Months of preparation and the founding of our GmbH in April 2019 had led to this moment: our own vision of a modern digital business, and the first Digital Product Studio in Germany’s most beautiful city, Cologne.

In October 2019, the office building we’d chosen months earlier was finally finished, and we moved into our first office, affectionately known as “Hyperspace One”. Late summer and a mild winter brought plenty of evenings on the roof terrace, where we gathered after work and sometimes met with clients.

After launching our first larger projects and plenty of smaller ones in spring 2020, and enjoying a memorable carnival party, we were in for a rude awakening. A global pandemic unlike anything in living memory soon sent us home to work. Fortunately, we were able to carry on as usual from there. Today, we’re confident we can meet the challenges of the pandemic as a company, as a partner to our clients and as part of society. Still, starting a company: hard mode. 😅

Now we’re looking forward to year two, new projects, new clients and certainly no shortage of challenges. Thank you to everyone who has supported and inspired us during this exciting first year. We’re full of energy for what comes next and look forward to continuing the journey together!
